Point of sale for liquor, wine and beer stores

The register your store deserves.

Sol is a register and back office built only for liquor stores. It counts every bottle, knows your RIPs before the check arrives, takes delivery-app orders at the counter, and keeps selling when the internet doesn't.

Built and tested at the counter of a working store in New Jersey. No spam, no sales calls.

The Sol register: a ticket with a case break and a lottery line on the left, colour-grouped keys for categories, favourites, ticket actions and lottery on the right
The register

Fast at the counter, right in the count.

Every key is where a cashier's hand expects it. Every sale lands on the shelf count the way it actually left the shelf.

Scan the ID, then the bottle

A driver's licence scan verifies 21+ and stamps the ticket. No typing birthdays, no guessing.

Single, pack or case, one count

Inventory is tracked by the bottle. Ring six out of a case and the other six are still on the shelf, where they are.

Sells with the internet down

The register runs on its own and queues sales until the line is back. A Friday rush never waits on your router.

Delivery orders at the counter

DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub orders arrive in the register as pulls to pick, not on a tablet in the corner.

Also on the keys Lottery draw and instant · Keg and bottle deposits · Case-break pricing · Price match with a below-cost guard · Cash, card, split and house accounts · Hold and recall tickets · Phone orders
The back office

Open it and see what needs you today.

Not forty reports. One home screen that says what sold, what you bought, what you kept, and the five things to fix before you lock up.

The Sol back office home: sales, tickets, margin after RIP, bought this month and lottery tiles; a sold-versus-bought chart by month; a Needs you today list; registers, top sellers and what's coming up
01

Margin after RIP, not before

Every product shows invoice cost and effective cost once the incentive is counted, so your margin number is the one you actually keep.

02

Books that match QuickBooks

Daily closes post to QuickBooks Online. Distributor invoices become bills. Inventory in both places is the same number.

03

Clean names from day one

Products are named the way they read on the shelf, linked to each distributor's item number, with pack sizes and last-bought-from on record.

Smart ordering

Ordering is the longest job in the store. Sol does the arithmetic.

It reads your sales, your shelf count and this month's deal sheets, then drafts the order: what will run out, which tier is worth reaching, and what's worth buying ahead before next month's price sheet kicks in.

  • Expected RIPs captured from the invoice and matched to the check when it comes, so you always know what is owed to you.
  • A flag when you were a case or two short of the next tier, and quiet when you weren't.
  • A below-cost guard on every price change, because New Jersey doesn't let you sell under cost and neither should your POS.
  • Your distributors' full catalogs in one search, so a special order shows who carries it before the customer leaves.

Why Sol

Made by a store owner who got tired of calling support.

Sol started as the system one liquor store wished it could buy. The rules below are what came out of running it next to the old register.

Every store rule is a setting

Drawer rules, returns, discounts, ID prompts, PINs. All of it lives in the back office where you can change it, never hard-wired by someone who has never met your customers.

Fix it yourself, in minutes

Merge a duplicate product, remap an account, move a key. The things that used to mean a support ticket and a paid add-on are buttons an owner can press.

Updates itself, register and cloud

Fixes arrive on their own, overnight, on every register. Nobody drives out with a USB stick.

Runs on hardware you can buy

A Windows touch terminal, a receipt printer, a drawer and a scanner off the shelf. Your label printer keeps printing labels and shelf talkers.

Sol is running in one store. Yours could be next.

We're opening to a small group of stores at a time so every one gets set up right. Leave your email and we'll tell you when a spot opens.
